*J. P. SAUER & SOHN TOP LEVER SIDE LOCK DRILLING WITH CASE AND LEUPOLD SCOPE. SN 92204. Cal. 12ga/ 12ga/ 7x57R. Double triggers. Non-automatic tang safety. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 26-7/8″ Bbls are marked “J. P. Sauer & Sohn, Suhl.” “Fluss Stahl – Krupp – Essen” w/ decorative banding around breeches. Nicely matted top rib has cross bolt extension, claw mount bases, flip-up rifle sight for 80 yards, and longitudinally dove tailed gold bead front sight. Bottoms of bbls have imperial German proofs. Left bbl is stamped “Nicht fur kugel” (Not for ball). Rifle bbl is engraved “7X57R” w/ “AWG” in a logo w/ SN “92204” stamped on rear lump. Nicely scroll engraved action is marked “D.R.P.” “78411” on trigger plate w/ bushed strikers, pin rifle cocking indicator, tang safety, w/ flip-up peep sight at back of tang. Action has a separate rifle cocking lever. Back action side locks are scroll engraved and have raised bead cocking indicators on tumbler ends. Fiddle back figured and streaked European walnut pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/4″ over a ribbed horn butt plate w/ shadow line cheek piece, steel grip cap, and engraved steel cartridge trap/ sling loop set into toe line w/ space for 4 cartridges. Checkering is 26 LPI w/ double line border. Splinter forend has a Deeley release and checkering to match buttstock. Bore diameter: left -.729, right -.724. Bore restrictions: left -.034, right -.014. Wall thickness: left -.023, right -.027. Drop at heel: ca 2-1/2″, drop at comb:ca 1-1/2″. Weight: 7 lbs 8.6oz. Leupold Vari-x II 1-4 variable SCOPE is set in case hardened claw mounts which are engraved on the top front ring “J P Sauer & Sohn 92207.” and have scroll engraving on their sides. The rear mount has windage adjustment. High quality newly made leather CASE has brass corners, green cloth interior, gilt and leather J P Sauer & Sohn label. CONDITION: Very good as refinished. Bbls retain virtually all quality re-black. Bores are bright and shiny w/ one very minor pit in front of right chamber. Rifle bore is excellent (Bbl shows evidence of having been replaced by sleeving. Cost of this job must have been well in excess of $1500.00). Action lock plates retain most of re-case color hardening. Engraving is washed out. Stock is excellent, retaining virtually all of its restored finish. Checkering is re-cut and sharp. Action is tight. Bbls are on face. SCOPE: Excellent. Optics are clear. One slight scratch behind rear ring. CASE: Excellent w/ few scuffs in leather.
