*FAMARS (A & S) BOXLOCK EJECTOR DOUBLE RIFLE WITH CASE. SN 1100. Cal. .375 H & H mag. 24″ Chopper lump barrels with matted quarter rib which terminates in Holland & Holland fashion, has “Famars” inlaid in gold Gothic letters in unmatted oval. One standing, one folding leaf express sight with gold triangle inlaid on standing leaf, and gold line on folding leaf, are marked for 50 and 100 yards. H & H style front ramp has gold bead front sight longitudinally dovetailed into matted top. Regulating wedge protrudes approx. 3/16″ from muzzles. Bbl flats are stamped with Italian nitro proofs for .375 H & H mag., “A & S”, SN, and “BSANY MILLBROOK” (Importer). Case hardened boxlock action has nicely filed flowing reinforcing bolsters, and features non-automatic safety with push button lock on slide (“Safe” inlaid in gold), top tang extended over comb in high style, bushed strikers, Purdey hidden third fastener, gas vents, and double triggers with front trigger articulated. Action borders are engraved with simple triangles and dots. Screw heads have a floral treatment. “Cal 375 H & H Mag” is inlaid in gold on floorplate, and “Famars” in Gothic script, inlaid in gold, is on both sides of action. Single beaded trigger guard extends to grip cap with SN inlaid in gold at grip. Very nicely streaked and fiddle figured European walnut full pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/4″ over Silvers type pad, and features shadow line cheekpiece for right handed shooter, steel trap grip cap containing two front sights, and 32 LPI point pattern checkering with single line border. Matching splinter forend has Anson release. Drop at heel: Approx. 2-1/4″, drop at comb: Approx. 1-3/8″. Weight: 8 lbs. 15 oz, LOP 14-1/4″. Brown leather case has combination lock and stitched leather corners. Interior is lined in dark green cloth with Famars black leather label. Accessories include green leather wallet containing proof certificate, film canister containing three spare front sights, as well as, green velvet bags for action and barrels. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbls retain virtually all their original satin blue. Action retains 90-95% of its case hardening color, silvering on beads, fences, and tang. Stocks retain most of their original rubbed oil finish, with a few minor nicks from handling and use. Action is tight. Right bbl is slightly off face. Left bbl is in contact with breechface at bottom. Ejectors are in time. Bores are excellent, with sharp rifling. Case leather has a few minor scuffs. Straps and handle are fine. Interior is excellent. A fine, great handling rifle for hunting big game anywhere in the world. 4-40231 MGM17 (19,500-24,500)
