*WINCHESTER MODEL 21 CUSTOM DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 20 ga. SN 9608. Beautifully engraved & gold inlaid “21” with 26″ bbls choked WS1/WS2 with concave matted rib & dbl silver beads. It has ejectors & sgl selective trigger. Receiver is beautifully custom engraved with raised gold flying pheasant & running pheasant on left side, two flying partridge on right side & flying woodcock on floorplate, all with woodland scene backgrounds & surrounded by beautifully executed foliate arabesque patterns with about 90% coverage. Engraving patterns extend about 1-1/4″ over chamber areas of bbls. Fitted with very beautiful, highly figured shell grained American walnut with checkered beavertail forearm & pistol grip stock, 14″ over a Winchester embossed hard rubber buttplate. Forearm serial number has been obliterated & is possibly an old replacement, however it matches the buttstock perfectly. Buttstock is serial numbered to the gun. Also accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum letter identifying this shotgun as “regular finish” & “regular grade wood” made for Iver Johnson Sporting Goods Co., completing inspection on Dec. 28, 1938. Drop at the heel: 2-3/8″, drop at the comb: 1-1/2″. Bore restrictions: left – .008, right – .003-.010. Wall thickness: left – .033, right – .028. Bore diameter: left – .598, right – .623. Weight: 6 lbs. 8.64 oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain about 95% thinning custom blue. Receiver & trigger guard retain virtually all of their fine dark custom blue & wood is sound, retaining most of a beautiful, professionally restored finish.
