*COSMI EXTRA-LUSSO SEMI-AUTO SHOTGUN. Cal. 20 ga. SN 1220. Beautiful hand made shotgun with 25-1/2″ vent rib bbl choked IMP/CYL, with single bead and narrow matted rib with matted top receiver. The lower receiver is bright metal with full coverage, very fine, best quality, intertwined foliate & floral arabesque pattern engraving. The upper receiver is not engraved. It is fitted with very highly figured Circassian walnut wood with checkered long narrow forearm that has a gold diamond on the bottom and straight grip, 14-1/2″ over a solid red recoil pad. Accompanied by an orig instruction manual, a recent catalogue, a reproduced article from the September 2000 Shotgun Sports magazine by Bob Korn regarding the Cosmi shotgun and a letter dated August 1, 2001 from Rodolfo Cosmi identifying this shotgun with date of production of August 1955 and that it was sold in Genoa. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl & upper receiver retain most of a restored finish having a plum/blue color overall. There is a spot of loss on the front edge of the receiver. Lower receiver has been polished bright, softening the engraving. Wood is sound and retains most of an extremely fine professionally restored finish.
