COLT BURGESS LEVER ACTION RIFLE.

COLT BURGESS LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal 44 WCF. SN 2223. Standard grade rifle with 25-1/2” rnd bbl, full magazine, blade front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight. It has uncheckered wood with straight stock and crescent steel buttplate with trap. CONDITION: Fair to good. No original finish remains. Metal has been cleaned bright a long time ago and has scattered light surface pitting. Front sight has been altered. Stock is missing a sliver by the lower tang and has cracks back of the upper and lower tangs. There is a replaced chip by the upper tang and the wood retains most of a heavy amateur varnish that has been exposed to heat. Strong bore with sharp rifling, dark in the grooves. 4-50770 JR52 (1,000-1,500)
