TIFFANY STUDIOS SPIDER LAMP.

TIFFANY STUDIOS SPIDER LAMP. Shade begins with a highly unusual color combination of deep teal colored glass gently receding to aqua and then a lighter bluish-green color. Outside is decorated with six bronze “legs” which represents the body of the spider with the panels of glass representing the web. Shade is finished with a dark patina finish. The shade is supported by a Tiffany Furnaces base having a gold dore finish with enameling that complements the coloration of the shade. Base is finished with two sockets and a spider top cap. With this lamp, Tiffany Studios ventured from its first foray of geometric lamps into curving the panels of glass which was a huge step forward. Creative licensing is used on this lamp since spiders have eight legs and the lamp only has six. Shade is signed on an applied tag “Tiffany Studios New York”. Base is signed “Louis C. Tiffany Furnaces Inc. Favrile 87″ and carries the Tiffany Furnaces logo. SIZE: Shade is 15″ dia. Lamp is 19” t. CONDITION: Shade is very good to excellent with very few if any tight hairlines. Base is very good with replaced top cap. Base is not the type typically found on a spider lamp. 5-62216 (20,000-30,000)
