SCARCE WRACO WINCHESTER MODEL 1892 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 32 WCF. SN WRACO. Very scarce standard grade rifle, 24” rnd bbl, full magazine, half-nickel front sight with semi-buckhorn rear sight. It has uncheckered wood, straight stock & crescent steel buttplate. The serial number has been rolled over with a knurling tool and the initials “WRACO” stamped in that area. There is some controversy regarding this marking. This cataloguer has heard that it could be a rifle that was returned to the factory with a damaged serial number and they marked it this way when it was refinished. It has also been said that it is a replacement receiver or a duplicate serial number. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbl retains 95-96% dull original blue with a scratch or two and light muzzle wear. Magazine tube is mostly a plum blue/brown patina with some light scratches & nicks. Receiver retains 95-96% strong bright blue with a few light scratches & some light surface etching. Lever & hammer retain 50-60% faded case colors. Wood is sound and retains most of its original factory varnish with light handling & use marks and a couple of small bruises and a couple of chips at the receiver. Bright shiny bore. 4-51466 JR794 (3,000-4,000)
