*H. BURGSMULLER VIERLING WITH CASE. SN 24483. Cal. 16 x 16 x 8x57JR x 22 LR. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 24″ Barrels w/ full length flat matted rib w/ pop-up rear sight, and silver bead front are engraved “H. Burgsmuller & Sohne” on right bbl, and “Kreiensen” on left. Bbl flats are stamped “16 Kaliber 65” w/ later “70” stamps. Bottom bbl is stamped SN “24483”, “8 Kaliber 57”, “A Seeber”, German nitro proofs w/ proof date of “12 40.” Left under rib is stamped “5. 6. 22. Kaliber.” Rifle extractor has a detent to allow use of rimless cases, as well as normal rimmed cases. Case hardened scalloped back trigger plate action has dual under lugs, Greener cross bolt, and side clips. Top tang has combination safety/ rifle selector. Back position being safe. Central position for shotgun, and forward position for rifle. Button on top must be depressed before selector can be moved to rifle mode. Left side of action has toggle switch to change between bottom 8 x 57 rifle bbl and central 22 caliber bbl. Trigger guard is horn. Front trigger is set. Lightly figured European walnut pistol grip buttstock measures 14″ over basket weave horn butt plate, features sling loop, shadow line right hand cheek piece, and sunburst horn grip cap w/ 28 LPI checkering w/ double line border. Splinter forend has Deeley release and checkering to match buttstock. Bore diameter: left -.672, right -.671. Bore restrictions: left -.030, right -.030. Wall thickness: left -.020, right -.024. Drop at heel: 2-7/8″, drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Weight: 7 lbs 5 oz. Leather Abercrombie and Fitch CASE has stitched leather corners, and is embossed “R. M. III” and “4 Barrel Gun” on lid. Interior is lined in rose cloth and has leather sling w/ green cloth lining. PROVENANCE: Dr. Frank Miller Collection. CONDITION: Fine as refinished. Bbls retain virtually all of re-black. Action has 98% re-case color. Stocks retain virtually all of restored oil finish. Bores are excellent. CASE is fine, leather darkening around edges. Partitions are solid. Cloth is fine, but needs cleaning. Sling shows some moth damage to lining. 4-35631 MGM127 (6,000-9,000)
