W. & C. SCOTT & SON “THE MONTE CARLO B” DBL BBL DAMASCUS SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 50424. Beautiful high grade Damascus sidelock dbl with 30-1/8″ bbls choked MOD/MOD, 2-3/4″ chambers, with raised flat tapered matted rib with dbl ivory beads, Greener crossbolt extension, square Greener crossbolt, dbl bites, extractors & dbl triggers. The right bbl is marked with the maker’s name & model with the address “10 GT CASTLE STREET” and the left bbl “LONDON ENGLAND”. The breech end of the bbl is engraved “SCOTT’S IMPROVED BOLT”. The standing breech is marked on the face “PAT. GAS CHECK” with U.S. & English patent numbers. The lockplates and receiver are beautifully engraved with vignettes of a flying pigeon on each side surrounded with about 70% coverage very fine, English style, foliate, arabesque patterns. The lockplates have cocked indicators. It is fitted with beautiful center crotch cut tiger striped walnut with full checkered splinter forearm with tab style latch lever and Prince of Wales grip on the stock with teardrop side panels, 15″ over a leather covered pad. Bore restrictions: left – .026, right – .028. Drop at the heel 3″, drop at the comb 1-1/8″. Weight: 7 lb 10.2 oz. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbls retain virtually all of their fine Damascus pattern with a light brownish patina. Receiver retains 40-50% orig case colors, muted but strong in sheltered areas. Lockplates retain about 90% muted case colors and the trigger guard about 50% orig blue. Wood is sound with the forearm retaining 60-70% orig varnish with a few chipped diamonds. Stock retains most of a fine professionally restored finish with freshened checkering and recovered leather pad. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bores. 4-54328 JR203 (4,500-6,500)
