*WINCHESTER MODEL 1894 TAKEDOWN LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 30 WCF. SN 301737. Standard grade rifle with 26” rnd bbl, half-nickel front sight with screw and semi-buckhorn rear sight, full magazine with uncheckered wood, straight stock & crescent buttplate. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum letter identifying this rifle and indicating it was shipped April 1, 1907 to Order #85370. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl retains 95-96% strong bright original blue with light muzzle & edge wear and a spot or two of surface discoloration. Magazine tube retains 95-97% strong bright original blue, the receiver & takedown ring retain 94-96% strong bright original blue with a series of small scratches on both sides of the receiver. Lever retains 60-70% bright case colors with the balance turning silver and the hammer having most of its original colors. Wood is sound and retains about 95% strong original varnish with usual handling and use marks and scratches and a few small bruises on the butt stock. There are initials “DD” on the right wrist. Loading gate retains 95-96% bright niter blue. Good mechanics, bright shiny bore. 4-51499 JR802 (2,250-2,750)
