*HOLLAND AND HOLLAND ROYAL HAMMERLESS EJECTOR GAME GUN WITH BRILEY CHOKES AND CASE. SN 29393. (Ca. 1922) Cal. 12 Ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 30″ Chopper lump bbls fitted with Briley thin wall chokes are engraved “Holland & Holland.” and “98. New Bond Street, London.” on tops. Very low narrow concave game rib terminates in hollowed ramped transition at breech end, which is scroll engraved, with “1” inlaid in gold. Bottoms of bbls are stamped with SN and “H & H”. Bbl flats show London nitro proofs for 1-1/8 oz. of shot (2-1/2″ chambers). Typical Royal action is stocked to the fences, and features an automatic safety (“SAFE” inlaid in gold), and double triggers. Locks are fitted with Holland patent detaching pin. Tumbler ends have gold lines as cocking indicators. Action and lockplates are engraved in classic Royal fashion with large shaded scroll, and acanthus. Top lever has “1” inlaid in gold, and is engraved “Royal Ejector”. Lockplates are engraved “Holland & Holland” in classic ribands. “Royal Hammerless Ejector” is on bottom of action. Lock detaching pin is engraved “Holland Patent”. Single beaded trigger guard is scroll engraved with SN in cartouche at grip. Nicely marbled and slightly figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-1/4″ over checkered wood butt, and features vacant gold oval on toe line, drop points, and 22 LPI standard point pattern checkering with mullered borders. Matching splinter forend has Anson release with “1” inlaid in gold at tip. SN is on iron. Bore diameter: left -.734, right -.734. Bore restrictions: 8 Briley thin wall chokes from Skeet 1 to Full, marked “Lead only”. Wall thickness: left -.032, right -.029. Drop at heel: 2-9/16″, drop at comb: 1-7/16″. Weight: 6 lbs. 5.8 oz, LOP 14-1/4″. Leather case with riveted leather corners has nickel plated rectangle screwed to lid, with 2 nickel plated closures. Interior is lined in blue green cloth with black leather Holland & Holland label, and contains 6 choke tubes, tube installation and removal tool, and cloth action and barrel covers. CONDITION: Fine, as refurbished. Bbls retain virtually all of a London quality re-black, with some discoloration at rear of polished bbl flats. Action is coin finished. Top lever and trigger guard are re-blued, and retain essentially all of that blue. Engraving is slightly washed. Stocks retain nearly all professionally done hand rubbed oil finish. Checkering has been re-cut. Bbls are very slightly off face, but action is tight with forend installed. Ejectors are very slightly out of time. Bores are excellent, bright and shiny. Forcing cones have been lengthened. Case is excellent. Holland label has partially detached with a brown leather Italian label underneath. 4-39325 MGM38 (12,500-17,500)
