*RARE WINCHESTER MODEL 21 2-BBL SET. Cal. 28 ga./20 ga. SN 12350. Skeet grade step side dbl with 28″ 28 ga. bbls & 26″ 20 ga. bbls. Both bbls have ventilated ribs with dbl ivory beads & ejectors. Both sets of bbls are choked WS1/WS2. 28 ga. bbls have usual markings on top of left side & 20 ga. bbls are marked on side of left bbl. Receiver is without decoration & marked on floorplate “SKEET”. Fitted with highly figured checkered American walnut with beavertail forearm & pistol grip stock, 14″ over a checkered butt. It has single selective trigger with a non-automatic safety. Accompanied by the orig 2-pc cardboard box with space for only one bbl. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum letter which does not mention grade or gage or bbls with regular finish & regular grade wood. Inspection completed July 31, 1941. It appears that it was originally sold with 20 ga. bbls & the 28 ga. bbls were added subsequently. Drop at the heel: 2-3/8″, drop at the comb: 1-5/8″. Bore restrictions: 28 ga. left – .012, right – .008; 20 ga. left – .010, right – .003. Wall thickness: Unable to gage 28 ga. bbls. 20 ga. left – .033, right – .030. Bore diameter: 28 ga. left – .532, right – .547; 20 ga. left – .603, right – .628. Weight: 7 lbs. 3.52 oz. with 28 ga. bbls. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Near new, retaining virtually all of its fine factory finish (possibly an old factory redo) to both metal & wood. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bores. Box shows moderate to heavy wear with some minor losses to label and with moderate soil & taping. 4-55546 JR22 (7,000-10,000)
