*W. & C. SCOTT & SON DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 82796. Fine boxlock shotgun with bbls reduced to 24-1/2″choked CYL/CYL, with raised tapered matted rib, single bead, dbl lump with third bite, ejectors & dbl triggers. It has the maker’s name & address on the tops of the bbls. The receiver is very nicely engraved with fine English foliate arabesque patterns with delicate borders that extend over the top of the fences on the opening lever, top tang & trigger guard with about 70% coverage. It is mounted with very nicely figured streaky French walnut wood with checkered splinter forearm and pistol grip stock, 14-3/4″ over a leather-covered pad. It has tear drop side panels and removing most of the grip cap area and bending the lower tang accordingly have modified the grip. CONDITION: Bbls retain a thin silver/blue with stronger blue in the sheltered areas and with a few minor patches of scattered light rust. Receiver has case colors in the sheltered areas with the balance turned silver. Floorplate retains about 50% orig blue. Stock, as modified, has vice marks on each side and retains most of an old refinish. Forearm is sound with a dark hand rubbed patina showing moderate to heavy wear.
