SIMON & HALBIG 1294 CHARACTER CHILD WITH CLOCKWORK EYES. Most commonly used for store displays, these rare dolls with side-glancing clockwork eyes were used to draw attention to goods being sold. This particular example has a life like expression with an open mouth, mohair wig and when wound, eyes that would move from left to right for several hours before needing to be rewound. Usually found on composition baby bodies, this bisque headed example is on a ball jointed composition child body. SIZE: 31″ t. CONDITION: Body is in good to very good condition with normal wear at joints with some old repairs at joints. Bisque head appears free of any damage.
