*SCARCE PARKER DHE GRADE DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 183654. Built on a #2 frame with extremely rare 36” Titanic steel bbls choked FULL/FULL with tapered, concave, matted rib, ivory front bead & silver middle bead with doll’s head rib extension, ejectors & Miller non-selective, single trigger. Chambers, originally 3”, have been opened up to 3-1/2”. Mounted with very nicely figured Claro walnut with a replacement carved & checkered, extra long, beavertail forearm & original pistol grip stock with raised teardrop side panels 14” over a Pachmayr waffle pad with spacers. It has a blank silver initial oval on the bottom & hard rubber grip cap. The receiver is engraved in typical D-grade patterns with a bird dog on each side and four pheasants on the floorplate, all surrounded by about 60% foliate arabesque patterns. Appended metal is engraved to match. Accompanied by a Parker Collector’s Association letter identifying this shotgun as being ordered on December 31, 1918 and shipped to W. H. Harding of Gering, NE with the 36” bbls with an extra charge of $10 for the extra long bbls, $4 for a Jostam pad & $1 for two Lyman sights. Bore diameter: left – .738, right – .734. Bore restrictions: left – .038, right – .038. Wall thickness: left – , right – . Drop at heel: 1-5/8”, drop at comb: 1-3/8”. Weight: 9 lbs. .96 oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain most of a fine professionally restored finish with a spot of rust on left side and slight wear from the forearm. Forearm lug has been reattached. Receiver has been cleaned bright and trigger guard retains most of its restored blue. Stock has a hairline back of top tang, otherwise wood is sound and retains about all of a professionally restored finish.
