*ASPREY ONE-OF-A-KIND FULL STOCK SPORTING RIFLE WITH SCOPE AND CASE. SN 5007. Cal. 375 H & H Magnum. For over two centuries Asprey has been known for only the highest quality. Sight is marked for 100, 200, and 300 yards. Quarter rib is complemented by matching front base with Westley Richards inspired folding front sight protector, which nests into mortise in ramp. Front bead is longitudinally dovetailed into the ramp. “Asprey” is inlaid in gold on top of bbl with address “New Bond Street. London” engraved. Action has been fitted with Holland style claw mounts with pivoting lock on front mount, which is affixed to side wall. Commercial trigger has been installed. Custom bolt shroud has 3 position Model 70 type safety with arrow pointer on lever and “F” “-” and “S” on shroud inlaid in gold. “Blackburn” magnum bottom metal is inlaid in gold with “Asprey London” and “.375 H & H”. Bottom of trigger guard bow is inlaid in gold with SN “5007” (probably the seventh rifle made). Very finely streaked and lightly figured European walnut full length stock measures 14-9/16″ over black leather covered pad, and features large traditional shadow line right hand cheekpiece, case hardened and engraved stock bolt, case hardened trap grip cap, blued steel nose cap, and sling swivel studs. Checkering is at 22 LPI with mullered borders. Matching forend checkering covers 11-1/2″ of stock and wraps all the way around. A gold oval is on toe line engraved with initials “JNC”. Drop at heel: Approx. 2-1/4″, drop at comb: Approx. 1-5/8″. Weight without scope: 9 lbs. 10 oz, LOP 14-9/16″.
