UNITED “SUPER SLUGGER” BASEBALL ARCADE MACHINE. Circa 1950s. This incredible baseball arcade machine lets the player(s) participate as the batter pitted against the fielders and thus increasing the “take” for the operator. The pitcher hits one of two pitch buttons. As the ball speeds towards the player, he or she decides how hard to swing the bat (choosing weak, medium, or strong). Upon a hit the ball flies towards the outfield, perhaps a direct hit to the 3rd baseman for an out or maybe just a single. Players advance to their proper position on the back playing field. Of course you want to hit a home run to see the batter race around the bases and watch the score increase. A great arcade machine especially appealing to those true lovers of baseball. Manufactured by United Manufacturing Company of Chicago, Illinois this game is in essentially original condition with a refresher coat of sealer to external wood cabinet. Although the consignor played this amusement device on a regular basis this machine has not been tested/played since arrival at the auction gallery for cataloging. SIZE: 23-1/2″ w x 80″ h x 78″ d. CONDITION: Overall very good original condition, some lifting to reverse glass painting, reattachment of banners(homerun, 10 extra points, etc.). 1-9438 (2,000-4,000)
