ELISHA TAYLOR BAKER (American, 1827-1890) WINDMILLS AND SAILS ALONG THE SHORE. Oil on canvas scene shows two windmills with large building on shoreline edge. A fire blazes at the edge with a sailboat beyond. On the right side are seen a line of sailboats with a building having a turret. Left side shows a distant town/city with domed and spire buildings. Two rowboats and a barrel are seen below the windmill under an early evening sky with pink and white clouds. Signed lower right with conjoined “ET Baker”. Housed in a modern carved wood frame. SIZE: 16″ x 20″. CONDITION: Relined, inpainting line in sky. Very good 9-99226 (4,500-5,500)
