*BEAUTIFUL CHARLES DALY DIAMOND GRADE DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 25267. Beautiful Lindner built dbl with 30″ bbls choked MOD/IMPCYL with tapered concave matted rib, single bead cross-bolt rib extension, dbl lumps, ejectors & dbl triggers. Rib is marked “CHARLES DALY DIAMOND QUALITY”. It has a beautiful, dbl scalloped, boxlock receiver with reinforced sides & side clips with scalloped fences & cocked indicators. It is beautifully engraved in very fine foliate arabesque patters with about 90% coverage. Bottom has a large vignette of a spaniel in a marsh scene with 2 flying ducks overhead, executed in wonderful detail. Trigger bow has a large vignette of 2 flying woodcock also executed in marvelous detail. Makers name is in an arc behind each fence. Appended parts are engraved to match & top tang has “SAFE” in gold. Mounted with extremely beautiful burl & shell grain dark walnut with checkered horn tipped semi-schnable splinter forearm and rnd knob Prince of Wales stock with raised checkered teardrop side panels 14-1/2″ over a serrated horn buttplate. Bottom of grip has a neat oval hard rubber inlay. Accompanied by 2 orig spare hammer/strikers, 2 spare hammer springs & another unknown spare part. The hammers are numbered 268. Also accompanied by a rare H. H. Heiser dbl end burgundy leather, takedown case with handle & shoulder strap. Case has makers stamp on both hinges. Shotgun case is a very unusual Heiser made item as they concentrated more on belts, holsters, scabbards & knife sheaths. Drop at heel: 2-1/2″, drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Bore restrictions: left – .020, right – .010. Wall thickness: left – .031, right – .030. Bore diameter: left – .706, right – .718. Weight: 6lbs 15.68oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain 96-97% strong, bright, orig blue with light muzzle edge wear & a couple of small thin spots. Receiver retains traces of case colors in very sheltered areas being mostly silvered case colors. Trigger guard is also silvered case colors. Wood is sound with very minor handling & use marks & retains a beautiful, smooth, hand rubbed patina. Mechanics are fine. Brilliant shiny bores with some very light scuffing just in front of the chambers. Case is fine with dry & crackled hinges & tabs. 4-56658 JR451 (5,000-10,000)
