*J. VISSER FINE DBL BBL SHOTGUN Cal. 12 ga. SN 1671. Beautiful Belgian made dbl with 28-1/2″ bbls choked FULL/IMPCYL with tapered concave matted rib, single bead, dbl chopper lump with third fastener, ejectors & dbl triggers, front is articulated. It has a full sidelock receiver with hand detachable locks that have cocked indicators. The receiver, lockplate, opening lever, trigger guard & forend iron have full coverage very well executed foliate arabesque pattern engraving with delicate borders. The fences have a flower blossom on each side and a raised narrow rib at the back edges. The top tang has “SAFE” in gold. Lockplates have the makers name on each side with his name and address on bottom. The hammers on the inside lockplates are gold-plated. Triggers & trigger guard are cast right hand. It is mounted with very nicely figured straight grain French walnut with checkered splinter forearm & straight stock 14-3/4″ over a checkered horn buttplate. Drop at heel: 1-3/4″, drop at comb: 1-1/8″. Bore restrictions: left – .029, right – .010. Wall thickness: left – .023, right – .026. Bore diameter: left – .702, right – .725. Weight: 6 lbs 14.4 oz. CONDITION: Fine. Bbls retain 93-95% strong orig blue with one small cleaned area & a few spots of light surface rust. Receiver & lockplates are an even silver/gray patina with case colors on the water table. Mechanics are crisp.
