*RARE WINCHESTER MODEL 1895 NRA MUSKET. Cal. 30-06. SN 95359. Rare musket with 24” rnd bbl, pedestal mounted blade front sight, musket style ladder rear sight, full-length forearm with two bbl bands, the front of which has a bayonet lug. It has a half-length upper hand guard and straight stock with musket style buttplate. Accompanied by an original leather sling with keeper. CONDITION: Very fine to extremely fine. Bbl retains 96-97% strong bright original blue. Receiver about 95% strong bright original blue with a couple of scratches on the right side and light wear & flaking on the left side. Cartridge box retains about 90% strong bright original blue and the lever 85-90% blue with flaking. Wood is sound and retains most of its fine original oil finish with minor handling & storage marks. Bright shiny bore. Sling is dry and soft with most of its finish gone and there is a tear near a set of holes. A rare and seldom encountered rifle. 4-51458 JR814 (4,000-6,000)
