*FINE KRIEGHOFF PRIMUS SIDE LOCK OVER/ UNDER DOUBLE RIFLE. SN 73725. Cal. .458WM. Double triggers. (Front set) Automatic ejectors. This fine rifle w/ 25″ bbls, has a matted quarter rib w/ matted ramp front sight. Sling eyes on bbls; marked “Bohler Spezial” and SN “73725”. German nitro proofs (1974), and caliber “458WM” marked on the bottom. The breech is scroll engraved on the sides and has double Kirsten extensions. Action has double under lugs, double Kirsten bolts, cocking indicators, and non-automatic safety. Action is coin finished, and has about 100% coverage w/ stylized shaded open scroll w/ stippled background. Bottom of action is marked “Krieghoff – Ulm – Primus”. Also features a black anodized Dural trigger guard w/ gold plated triggers and action internals. Side locks detach w/ hidden flip-up cover which is used to take out the lock screw. The figured and nicely streaked European walnut pistol grip buttstock measures 14-3/4″ over a black “Decelerator” pad. Stock has a sling eye, Bakelite grip cap, and skip line checkering w/ double line border. One piece forend has a Deeley release and checkering to match buttstock. Drop at heel: 2″, drop at comb: 1-7/16″. Weight: 9 lbs 8oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain 98% orig blue w/some wear at muzzles and high points on rib. Bores are bright and shiny w/ evidence of slight frosting in top bbl toward breech. Action retains nearly all of its coin finish.
