EVANS COLOR WHEEL. The H.C. Evans Co. over a period of many years produced various gaming wheels in various sizes. This particular example is the largest size and includes the original wooden shipping crate. This example is unusual in nature in that it has black and red and green coloring similar to that of a roulette table. The standard wheel is either dominoes or a horse race. Used at county fairs, casinos and other events, this wheel mimicked the roulette. The barker would ask players to position their bets on the table according to color. The odds were different from the other wheels mentioned, and those familiar with Roulette would be more inclined to play this game. Handsomely mirrored center section with maker’s name and reverse painted exterior band with red, black, and green coloring. A great addition to anyone’s game room! Wheel is mounted upon a cast iron tripod with a wood center post and a gold colored ball at the top. This particular example was once housed at the Winthrop Yacht Club of Winthrop, Massachusetts (crate is so marked). SIZE: Approx. 7′ tall CONDITION: Overall very good, some minor lifting to exterior color band. Two damaged panels on exterior band. 1-9300 (4,500-6,500)
