THOMAS ALLEN, JR. (AMERICAN, 1849-1924) THE GRAPE ARBOR. Oil on canvas scene shows a young mother with infant on stairs leading to a large grape arbor attached to the house where a young boy looks out an open window. Sunflowers have bloomed at corner of house and a coastal view can be seen beyond. Signed bottom right. Housed in a fine gesso-decorated gilt frame with gilt liner, having gilt wood artist’s plaque. SIZE: 12″h x 18″w. CONDITION: Relined, new stretcher, very good with some inpainting. 9-95497 (2,500-3,500)
