FRENCH ETIENNE DENAMUR BEBE. 1890s era closed mouth French Bebe with head incised “E 11 D DEPOSE”. With lovely blue glass eyes, well painted eyelashes and eyebrows, pierced ears, well painted bee stung lips. She is on her original fully jointed French wood and composition body. Wears a cotton and lace dress with cotton knickers with red embroidered edging at knees. Her brown human hair wig is thin but probably original. SIZE: 24″ (61cm). CONDITION: Nice quality bisque and facial painted with old diagonal hairline running from trim edge to right upper eyebrow with light overpainting over the damage, body finish original and in overall good condition with minor paint wear at joints and fingertips. 1-7877 (1,500-2,000)
