*WESTLEY RICHARDS BARRELED DOUBLE EJECTOR RIFLE. SN 30716. Cal. 32-40. Top lever. Automatic safe. Double triggers (Both set). 26″ Steel bbls are engraved “Westley Richards” on right bbl and “23 Conduit St. London” and “32/40 cartridge.” on the left. Matted and engraved top quarter rib is fitted w/ standing leaf sight for 100 yds w/ folding leaves for 200, 300, 400, and 500 yds, as well as a folding ladder sight for up to 1000 yds. Front sight is Westley Richards patent fold over hood type w/ longitudinally dove-tailed bead w/flip up night sight. Bbl flats show Birmingham nitro proofs and are stamped “Cordite 18 – 165 bullet”, as well as “32/40” and “2.13.” Bottoms of bbls have “18505” and “30716” stamped. Bottom rib has a sling loop screwed on w/ shell and scroll engraving towards the muzzle. Scalloped back box lock action has dual locking lugs, and cross bolt third fastener. Water table has British nitro proofs over Germanic proofs w/ nos. 30716 and 18505 stamped. Action is engraved w/ Germanic scroll and bouquet w/ serpentine filed and nicely relief engraved fences. Trigger guard has matching engraving. Top tang has an “S” engraved in front of safety button. Well streaked European walnut semi pistol grip butt stock measures 14-1/2″ over “Old English” pad w/ extra spacer, and features a sling loop, small, set diamond shaped horn drop points, and 28 LPI checkering w/ mullered borders. Splinter forend has Deeley release horn tip and is checkered to match buttstock. Drop at heel: 2-3/4″, drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Weight: 8 lbs. PROVENANCE: Dr. Frank Miller Collection. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl retains virtually all professional re-black. Very good bores w/ frosting in breech ends. Action retains 10-20% orig case color, is mostly silver and gray. Stocks retain most of an oil finish, sharp edges slightly rounded. Action is tight. Bbls are on face. Ejectors are in time. Set triggers work. 4-35621 MGM70 (8,000-12,000)
