*FAUNETTA BY SIMSON PARADOX BORE DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 20 ga. SN 31823. Pre-war II dbl built in May 1930 by Simson & Co. of Suhl, this wonderful little shotgun has 27-3/4″ bbls choked MOD/MOD. The last 1” or so of the bores at the muzzle are lightly rifled. It has raised matted rib with unusual caterpillar silver bead rifle front sight and fixed rifle type rear sight. It has dbl lumps with Greener cross bolt rib extension and ejectors. It is built on a dbl scalloped boxlock action with cocked indicators, dbl triggers and side clips, beautifully engraved with about 70% coverage very fine rose & scroll engraving. The fences and top of the receiver are deep relief engraved in rose & fern foliate patterns. The opening lever and trigger guard are engraved to match. The bottom of the receiver has a large cluster of flower blossoms and the Simson name inlaid in silver. The wood is very nicely grained walnut with checkered splinter forearm that has a hard rubber Schnable tip insert and very fine checkered straight grip with raised side panels and black diamond tear drops, 14-1/4″ over a basket weave pressed horn buttplate. The toe of the stock has several stamped characters that appear to be Indonesian or one of the South Asian languages. The stock and bbls have sling swivels. Bbl restrictions: left – .018, right – .020. Drop at the heel 2-1/8″, drop at the comb 1-3/8″. Weight: 6 lb 4.1 oz. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbls retain 96-97% strong bright orig blue. Receiver retains most of its orig brown finish. Wood is crisp and sound and retains virtually all of its orig oil finish. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bores. 4-53759 JR36 (2,750-4,000)
