*MATCHED PAIR OF HOLLAND & HOLLAND ROYAL EJECTOR DBL BBL SHOTGUNS. Cal. 12 ga. SN 27725 & 27726. Fabulous pair of Hollands with both sets of 30″ bbls choked MOD/CYL with tapered concave smooth ribs with sgl bead, third bite, dbl chopper lumps, ejectors & Holland’s patented sgl trigger. Bbls have maker’s name & address and they are numbered in gold “1” & “2” with corresponding gold numbers on opening levers & tip of forearm. They have hand detachable sidelocks with gold line cocked indicators & maker’s name on each lockplate. Top tangs have “SAFE” in gold. Bottom front of receivers are inscribed “ROYAL HAMMERLESS EJECTOR” and bottom rear of receivers “HOLLAND’S SINGLE TRIGGER”. Lockplate thumb screw is marked “HOLLAND’S PATENT”. Receiver, lockplates & appended parts have about 80% coverage extremely fine English rose & scroll pattern engraving. Forend irons are engraved to match. Mounted with very highly figured French walnut with checkered splinter forearms & straight stocks, 14-3/8″ over thin solid red pads. They have a gold initial plate on bottoms engraved “J.T.” GUN #1: Drop at heel: 2-5/16″, drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Bore restrictions: left – .018, right – .002. Wall thickness: left – .027, right – .028. Bore diameter: left – .715, right – .721. Weight: 6 lbs. 15.04 oz. GUN #2: Drop at heel: 2-5/16″, drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Bore restrictions: left – .017, right – .002. Wall thickness: left – .031, right – .024. Bore diameter: left – .716, right – .733. Weight: 6 lbs. 14.72 oz. CONDITION: GUN #1: Very fine. Bbls retain 93-95% orig blue, thin over carry point & about forearm. Lockplates retain most of their orig case colors, slightly faded, stronger toward top. Receiver retains 40-50% thin case colors with balance turned silver. Opening lever retains most of its orig blue & trigger guard traces of orig blue. Wood is sound with some bruising on forearm & light handling marks on buttstock & retains most of an English style restored finish. Initial plate on bottom has a dent. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bores. GUN #2: Very fine plus. Bbls retain 97-98% strong bright blue & lockplates about 90% orig case colors on left side and 75-80% thin orig case colors on right side. Receiver retains 40-50% thin orig case colors. Stock has a hairline back of each lockplate & a scrape along raised right panel with normal handling & use marks and retains most of a fine English style restored finish.
