Automatic safe. 26″ Chopper lump steel bbls are engraved “.405 Bore.” and “Webley & Scott, Ltd.” on right bbl. and “52 Grs Cordite. 300 Grn S.N.S.P. Bullet.” and “55.Victoria Street, London, S.W.1.” on the left. File cut top rib w/extension has one standing, 3 folding express sight w/ silver lines and a longitudinally dove-tailed front bead. Bbl flats have London nitro proofs for “Cordite 52-300 Max.” and “405EX.” Splinter is stamped “Champlin Firearms, Inc. Enid. OK.” Long bar Webley boxlock action has dual under lugs, third bite rib extension, and bushed strikers. Engraved w/ nicely executed scroll at about 70% coverage. Scroll engraved trigger guard has no. “12028” on grip. “Safe” is relief engraved on inset gold rectangle on top tang. Highly stump figured Circassian walnut full pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/2″ over a checkered and engraved steel butt plate, features a vacant silver oval, sling eye, and engraved steel grip cap, as well as, 26 LPI checkering w/ mullered borders. Lever release splinter forend has checkering to match buttstock. Drop at heel: 2-1/2″, drop at comb: 1-5/8″. Weight: 9 lbs 1 oz. PROVENANCE: Dr. Frank Miller Collection. CONDITION: Fine as refurbished. Bbls retain 98% professional re-black. Bores are excellent, bright and shiny. Action and butt plate retain virtually all of London quality re-case color, w/ scattered pitting underneath. Floor plate, trigger guard, and top lever retain most all their re-blue.
