REMINGTON SPLIT BREECH CARBINE. Cal. .52. 20″ rnd bbl. Marked “REMINGTON’S. ILION.N.Y. / PAT.DEC.23.1863. MAY 3.&NOV.16.1864” on the upper tang. The tang of the buttplate is marked “US” but no other inspector marks appear on the gun. CONDITION: Gray patina mixed with scattered light pitting. The stock is excellent. Mechanically fine.
