PAIR OF SITZENDORF FIGURAL PORCELAIN CANDELABRA. Second half 19th century. The bases modeled in the form of a gentleman and a lady in period dress, decorated overall in pink on ivory ground. Gentleman posed with a horn, the lady with basket of flowers. Each removable five-light four-arm candelabrum attachment all overlaid with flowerheads, the bobeches in the form of leaftips. Each figural base may function as a single candlestick. The plinth gilt-heightened and scrolled. Each with blue mark underglaze. SIZE: Each: 15-1/2″ overall h. x 10″ dia. Base: 11″ h. PROVENANCE: From a fine Beacon Hill and Thomaston estate. CONDITION: Very good overall, with minimal and minor chips and flakes at end of some flowerheads and leaftips. 9-93582 (600-800)
