FINE G.L. RASCH HAMMER DBL RIFLE. Cal appears to be 11mm Mauser. NSN. High grade, very dainty little rifle with 26” bbls, fixed sights, and a tapered matted top rib with the makers name and address. It has DBL lump with Greener cross bolt and extractors. The bottom rib has a sling base attached with corresponding base on the stock. It has a tiny round action with fancy standing breech, top lever with back action locks and rebounding hammers. The wood is very nicely figured French walnut with a horn tipped, fully checkered splinter forearm and pistol grip stock 13-3/4” over an extremely fine checkered buttplate with heel & toeplates. It has a cheek piece on the right side for left handed shooter. It has a fine horn trigger guard and grip cap with set triggers. The receiver, lockplates, hammers, opening lever, top tang, heel & toeplates are beautifully engraved with about 60% coverage very fine arabesque patterns with central medallions of roses. The makers name is on the right lockplate and the city on the left. Very shootable dimensions. Weight 6 pound .05 oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain 92-94% strong original blue. Receiver, lockplates, and heel & toeplates have been cleaned to bright metal. Inside the trigger guard, on the trigger plate, retains muted case colors. Wood is sound and retains generous amounts of fine oil finish with several small scratches and a bruise or two showing moderate wear to the checkering. Bores are strong and bright with light pitting in the grooves. Action is very tight and would make a good shooter. 4-50337 JR149 (2,000-3,000)
