The finely carved and painted decoy with arched neck and black glass eyes, the wings and body in shades of brown, having articulated feathered wing tips and tail. Signed beneath: “The mate to no.1.” also marked: “Branta Canadensis” by “L.T. Ward, Chrisfield, MD, 1963”, also: “Best grade”. Also marked within brackets: Made for Norris E. Pratt’s collection.” PROVENANCE: Fine private Long Island, New York mansion. SIZE: 19-3/4”l.
