*SCARCE BROWNING GOLD CLASSIC SUPERPOSED SHOTGUN. SN P33GC347. Cal. 20ga, 26-1/2″ bbls, matted, ventilated rib, dual white sighting beads, 2-3/4″ chambers, IMP.CYL/MOD chokes, ejectors and single selective trigger. Left side of bbl is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q. / MADE IN BELGIUM BY FABRIQUE NATIONALE HERSTAL”. Right side marked “SPECIAL STEEL 20GA. SHELLS – 2-3/4”. The super light rounded frame is engraved with bold foliate scrolls with shaded background, gold rooster pheasant in flight in front of a gold setter on point and a second rooster crouching, ribbon across bottom marked in gold “347 OF FIVE HUNDRED” on left side. Right side has gold bust of John Browning, gold pointer and 2 gold quail in flight, ribbon across bottom in gold is marked “BROWNING GOLD CLASSIC”. Bottom of receiver has relief gold grouse head circled by gold wire. Mounted with dark, highly figured walnut, checkered straight grip with beaded border and oak leaf carving, Browning hard rubber buttplate, and checkered schnable forend with beaded border and oak leaf carving. Lower left side of frame is signed “J. LEWANCZVK”. Bore diameter: top -.620, bottom -.619. Bore restrictions: top -.014, bottom -.006. Wall thickness: top -.041, bottom -.044. Drop at heel:2-1/8″, drop at comb:1-3/8″, Weight: 6lbs. 4oz. LOP 14-1/4″. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbls retain 99% orig blue with just a couple minor handling marks. Receiver retains virtually all of its select gray finish and sharp, clear gold inlays. Stock is sound with sharp checkering, some minor handling marks, a repaired grain crack running from top tang down across to side panel on left side and retains nearly all of its fine orig oil finish. Forend is sound with sharp checkering, a few minor handling marks, retaining orig oil finish. Mechanics are crisp with mechanical trigger, non-automatic safety, strong ejectors and bright shiny bores. 4-40858 BDT130 (6,500-8,500)
