CARVED AND PAINTED DECOY OF A GREATER SNOW GOOSE BY L.T. WARD. Painted in shades of cream, the head with mauve beak and brown glass eyes. The head and neck textured having crossed pin feathers. Marked on the bottom of the base: “Greater snow goose L.T.Ward own personal collection, 1958.” PROVENANCE: Fine private Long Island, New York mansion. SIZE: 20-3/4”l. CONDITION: With original surface. Carved from the solid, now with shrinkage cracks front to rear along base extending partially up chest and rear, otherwise very good. 9-73972 SM (1,000-2,000)
