UNUSUAL TRYON DBL BBL DAMASCUS SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 45509. Unusual dbl with 26″ Damascus bbls choked FULL/MOD with raised concave matted rib, single bead and rib extension. It has a sidelock action, outwardly similar to an L.C. Smith but with different cocking mechanisms. The lockplates are marked “TRYON’S DAMASCUS / PHILADELPHIA PA.” It is mounted with a nicely figured semi-pistol grip checkered stock and splinter forearm and has a serrated hard rubber buttplate and oval grip cap. The bbls are completely unmarked. CONDITION: Bbls retain 70-75% orig brown Damascus pattern, thinning with scattered surface spotting. Receiver retains good case colors in the sheltered areas with the balance a silver/brown patina. Lockplates retain 30-40% muted case colors with the balance turned silver and the trigger guard about 80% blue. Wood is sound and retains about 95% orig varnish.
