*HOFFMAN ARMS BOX LOCK PARADOX SINGLE TRIGGER EJECTOR WITH KORNBRATH ENGRAVING. SN 309. Cal. 12 bore 2-1/2″ Chambers. Paradox (rifle choke). 26″ Dove-tailed steel bbls are marked “Hoffman. Arms. Co. Ardmore, Okla.” on the stippled and decoratively engraved quarter rib w/ third fastener extension and 2 folding platinum lined leaf sights for 50 and 100 yards. Remainder of the top rib is stippled and terminates in a file cut front ramp w/ ivory bead sight. The tops of the bbls are both marked “12 Gauge. Parodox.” with 3/4″ decorative bands at breeches. The bbl flats show London nitro proof for 1-1/8oz of shot, “RC” (rifle choke) “Cordite 750 bullet xxx.” The case hardened action is engraved w/ high relief scroll and a gold inlaid lion’s head within an oval on the left side w/ “Hoffman. Arms” in a riband along the fences. The right side has matching scroll engraving w/ a head of a bear looking back, inlaid in gold and the address, “Ardmore, Okla.” in a matching riband. The blued floor plate has relief scroll and large acanthus leaves framing a gold inlaid flying duck. The fences have acanthus leaf engraving on the sides, the top is stippled. “Safe” is inlaid in gold in front of the non automatic safety on the top tang. The trigger guard has relief scroll engraving on the bow, and SN “309” on the grip. Gun has a factory installed Miller single selective trigger. The lightly figured and streaked English walnut full pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/8″ over a Pachmayr “Old English” brown pad, and features nicely shaped drop points, a feather engraved steel grip cap, sling eye, and 22 LPI checkering w/ mullered borders. Splinter forend has an Anson release w/ wood and checkering to match buttstock. Bore diameter: left -.733, right -.733. Bore restrictions: left -.013, right -.013. Wall thickness: left -.039, right -.038. Drop at heel: 2-1/2″, drop at comb:1-9/16″. Weight:7 lbs 12oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain 90-95% orig blue, thinning in grip area, w/ some areas where some very light rust has been cleaned. Bores are bright and shiny. Slight frosting in front of the chamber in the left bbl. Action retains 90%+ orig case color, silvering on fences. Floor plate and trigger guard retain 98% of their orig blue. Top lever is silvered at thumb piece. Screw slots are sharp, and appear unturned, except for the action screw, which shows use. Wood retains 90%+ of its orig finish w/ couple areas of compression on the left side of the forend. Action is tight and on face. Ejectors are in time. Trigger works well. Consignor states that recognized expert Michael Petrov indicated that from his research this is the only Hoffman Paradox known. 4-35403 MGM27 (35,000-45,000)
