*PAUL JAEGER MAUSER 98 CUSTOM BOLT-ACTION RIFLE W/SCOPE. SN 2226. Cal. 7mm MAG. 24″ rnd bbl w/Lyman banded ramp front sight w/fine gold bead, pedestal rear w/flip up. Bbl is marked, “PAUL JAEGER-JENKINTOWN, PA.” Left side of chamber is marked w/caliber designation. Left side of receiver orig equipped w/side mount w/holes filled along w/cutout in stock. Flat bottom bolt handle is two paneled checkered. Two position side swing safety. Topped w/Redfield one-piece base and rings w/Leopold Vari-X III 3.5×10 AO. Hinged floor plate w/inside bow release. Mounted w/nicely figured walnut, 45 degree forend tip, Fleur de Lis checkered forend, Fleur de Lis checkered pistol grip w/engr grip cap, Monte Carlo w/left side shadow line cheek piece, thin Pachmyr black recoil pad. Equipped w/detachable sling swivel studs. LOP 12-5/8″. PROVENANCE: Dr. Frank Miller Estate Collection. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl and receiver retain most of their fine custom blue finish. Left side where fill holes are is coated w/some type of applied finish. Stock is sound w/moderate amount of hunting nicks and dings, slightly worn checkering w/a fine oil finish. The spring for bolt release, bolt body and follower are jeweled. Mechanics are good. Floor plate release is a little sticky w/a nice shiny bore. 4-35688 BDT234 (1,200-2,200)
