*RARE WINCHESTER MODEL 21 GRAND AMERICAN DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 410. SN W38055. Spectacular Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Co. Model 21 with 30″ bbls choked FULL/FULL with ventilated rib, red ivory Bradley bead with ejectors & gold-plated sgl selective trigger. Rib is marked “CUSTOM BUILT BY WINCHESTER”. Receiver is beautifully engraved with typical Grand American vignettes of a setter on left side, a pointer on right side, two pheasants on floorplate & a spaniel’s head on trigger bow. Balance of receiver has about 80% coverage fine foliate arabesque patterns with deep relief oak leaf & acorn patterns on fences. Water table & bbl flats have lightning cuts. Standing breech, bbl flats, bbl faces, ejectors, lugs & forearm lug are very nicely jeweled. Mounted in spectacular center crotch cut flame grain walnut with black insert beavertail forearm carved in “21-B” pattern with straight stock, 14-1/4″ over a checkered butt. There is a blank gold initial plate on bottom of stock. Accompanied by a maroon, leatherette, ultra-suede lined, trunk case & an elliptical shaped red & yellow hang tag. Drop at heel: 2-3/8″, drop at comb: 1-3/8″. Unable to measure bore restrictions or wall thickness. Bore diameter: left – .390, right – .399. Weight: 7 lbs. 10.56 oz. A review of the records of the Cody Firearms Museum disclosed no information regarding this shotgun. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine. As new, may have been fired but if so, very little. Retains virtually all of its orig factory finish to both metal & wood with no discernible flaws. Crisp mechanics, brilliant bores. 4-55553 JR123 (15,000-25,000)
