*SPECTACULAR R.G. OWEN DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 20 ga. SN 33026. Extraordinary Owen made dbl with 27-3/8″ bbls choked CYL/CYL with tapered concave matted rib, dbl ivory beads, Greener crossbolt extension and dbl bite. It has ejectors and single selective trigger. Although unsigned there is no mistaking Kornbrath’s attention to detail and spectacular use of space with his delicate shadings in the proper areas. The engraving completely covers the receiver, opening lever, top tang, trigger guard, forend iron and 1-1/4″ up the bbls over the chambers and 3/8″ at the muzzles. It is mounted with very beautiful, highly figured, marble cake, Circassian walnut with extremely fine (about 32 lines per inch) checkering on the splinter forearm and straight stock with raised side panels and dbl diamond black inlays, 14-1/4″ over a skip line checkered butt with scalloped edges and heel & toe plates. The heel & toe plates are engraved to match the rest of the gun. Accompanied by a brown leather, green felt lined luggage case made for a larger gun. Bore restrictions: left – .012, right – .000. Drop at the heel 2-1/4″, drop at the comb 1-1/2″. Weight: 5 lb 12.6 oz. CONDITION: Very fine to extremely fine. Bbls retain 96-97% strong bright orig blue with a couple of small nicks & scratches. Receiver retains about 80% subtle case colors turned silver on the edge of the fences and front part of the receiver. Trigger guard retains about 70% orig blue, turned gray over the grip area. Stock has a tiny 1/4″ hairline back of the top tang, otherwise the wood is sound with minor handling & use marks, showing light wear and retaining about all of its beautiful oil finish. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bores. Case is fine. 4-54352 JR565 (20,000-30,000)
