*GRIFFIN AND HOWE WINCHESTER MODEL 54 WITH KORNBRATH ENGRAVING AND LYMAN JUNIOR TARGET SPOT SCOPE. SN 42351A. Cal. 22 Hornet. 24″ Round standard Winchester bbl w/ Winchester rear sight, integral stippled ramp front, has usual Winchester markings for 22 Hornet, and is engraved on the top “NO. 982 Griffin & Howe, New York, N.Y.” The 10 power Lyman Junior Target Spot Scope is numbered “3211” and has its screw on caps, and mounts in target blocks screwed to top of receiver ring and bbl. Bolt knob has circles of stippling at top and bottom. Floor plate has very nicely executed scroll and acanthus engraving, by Rudolph Kornbrath. American walnut buttstock measures 13-7/8″ over standard Winchester steel butt plate w/ Griffin and Howe sling eyes, horn forend tip, standard factory checkering, and Kornbrath engraved steel grip cap w/ feather motif. CONDITION: Very fine. Metal retains virtually all of its rust blue finish. Silvering on edges of floor plate. Top of bolt handle has been cut away to clear low mounted scope. Stocks retain their oil finish. Bore is excellent. Scope optics are clear. 4-35410 MGM67 (4,000-6,000)
