*CASED WINCHESTER MODEL 23 GOLDEN QUAIL DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 20 ga. SN GQ20-312E. Beautiful little shotgun with 25-5/8″ bbls choked MOD/IMP-CYL with concave matted rib, Bradley ivory bead and marked “GOLDEN QUAIL”. The bottom of the bbls has the choke markings “QUAIL 1” and “QUAIL 2”. It has dbl bite with ejectors and single selective trigger. The receiver is coin finished with etch engraving of a bird dog & quail on the left side and two quail on the right side with a raised gold quail head on the bottom, all surrounded with about 60% coverage etch engraving. The bottom of the receiver is also marked “ONE OF 500″ and ‘”GOLDEN QUAIL”. It is fitted with highly figured center crotch cut flame grain walnut with checkered beavertail forearm and straight stock with fleur-de-lis checkered side panels, 14-1/4″ over the orig thin red Winchester pad. Its orig 2-pc cardboard box with owner’s pamphlet and its orig tan canvas & leather trunk case accompanies it. Drop at the heel 2-3/8″, drop at the comb 1-7/16″. CONDITION: Has been fired but retains virtually all of its orig factory finish to both metal & wood with only one or two small mars in the wood finish. Crisp mechanics, brilliant shiny bores.
