*SPECTACULAR CASED PAIR OF E.J. CHURCHILL PREMIER FINEST QUALITY DBL BBL SHOTGUNS. Cal. 12 ga. SN 6494 & 6495. Identical cased pair numbered “1” and “2” with 25″ bbls both choked IMP-CYL/IMP-CYL with narrow matted rib & single bead. The end of each rib is marked in gold “XXV” with the numbers “1” or “2” also in gold, which number also appears on the opening lever and forend iron. The bbls are marked with the maker’s name and with London address. They are self-openers with ejectors and dbl triggers. They have full sidelocks with full coverage intricate very fine intertwined foliate arabesque pattern engraving with the maker’s name in a scroll on each lockplate. Lockplates are pinless. They also have cocked indicators. The bottom of the receivers are marked “PREMIER / FINEST / QUALITY”. They are mounted with spectacular marble cake Circassian walnut with checkered splinter forearms and straight grip stocks, teardrop side panels and are 14-3/4″ over solid red pads. They have gold, square, shield-shaped initial plates on the bottom that are inscribed with the initials “RAD”. Bore restrictions: #1 left – .009, right – .011; #2 left – .009, right – .010. Drop at the heel 2-1/4″ on both, drop at the comb #1: 1-9/16″, #2: 1-5/8″. Weight #1 6 lb 7.6 oz, Weight #2 6 lb 4.2 oz. Accompanied by their orig two gun take down trunk case made of chocolate brown leather with green felt lining having the initials “R.A.D.” embossed in gold on the lid. The inside divider has two yellow celluloid maker’s tags. CONDITION: Both guns are virtually identical in almost every respect, even to the amount of use. Both guns have been completely professionally restored to include re-blacking the bbls, opening levers & trigger guards. Bbls each have light wear spots on the muzzle of each left bbl and at the chamber of each left bbl. Receivers and lockplates are clean & bright with a satin metal color retaining traces of case colors on the water tables. Wood on both guns has also been restored and retain about all of their beautiful oil finish. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bores. 4-54350 JR559 (27,500-40,000)
