UNMARKED UNDER LEVER DRILLING. Cal. 16X16/8X57JR. SN 4430. Fine German drilling with 26-3/4″ bbls, raised, tapered, matted rib with silver-bead, caterpillar, front sight, articulated rear sight with dbl lump and dolls head rib extension. It has rounded receiver, typically German engraved with a bugling stag on the left side and running raebuck on the right side, all surrounded with nicely executed full coverage foliate patterns. It has cocked indicators and Greener style thumb safety with top tang rifle bbl switch. The right trigger is set. It has nicely figured checkered splinter forearm and pistol grip stock with European cheek piece and basket weave horn buttplate. It has a four-hole bullet trap in the comb and is fitted with sling swivels. CONDITION: Fine. Bbls retain 85-90% orig bbl blue, thin and turning gray over the forearm area. Receiver is mostly faded silver case colors. Stock has a crack in the wrist, otherwise is sound and retains about 85% orig varnish with the checkering having been freshened. Mechanics are fine.
