*L.C. SMITH SPECIALTY GRADE DBL BBL SHOTGUN 2-BBL SET. Cal. 20 ga. SN FWE85348. Scarce 2-bbl set with 32″ bbls choked FULL/FULL & 28″ bbls choked MOD/IMP-CYL. Both sets of bbls have tapered flat matted ribs with dbl ivory beads, cross bolt rib extensions, ejectors & it has a Hunter One trigger. Receiver is engraved with usual specialty patterns of two quail on left lockplate & a flying duck on right lockplate surrounded by light foliate arabesque patterns. Mounted with very nicely figured American walnut with black tipped, checkered, splinter forearm & a schnable-tipped beavertail forearm with semi-pistol grip stock, 14-1/4″ over a Pachmayr waffle pad. Both sets of bbls are marked with the specialty markings & Hunter Arms Co. markings. 28″ bbl appears to have had right bbl markings dbl rolled. Drop at heel: 2″, drop at comb: 1-7/16″. Bore restrictions: 28″ bbls: left – .025, right – .001; 30″ bbls: left – .030, right – .029. Wall thickness: 28″ bbls: left – .027, right – .038; 30″ bbls: left – .026, right – .030. Bore diameter: 28″ bbls: left – .589, right – .613; 30″ bbls: left – .580, right – .587. Weight with 28″ bbls: .6 lbs. 11.2 oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Both sets of bbls retain 96-97% strong orig blue. Receiver & lockplates retain about 60-70% faded case colors with balance turned silver. Stock has obligatory hairlines back of lockplates, otherwise wood is sound & retains most of a professionally restored finish. Beavertail forearm has some crackling to finish.
