STEUBEN RED AURENE ART GLASS VASE. Circa 1910, this outrageously decorated shouldered vase has a slightly elongated neck ending in a gold aurene collar. Extending from this collar is a gold pulled feather decoration on alabaster with a large portion of the vase being decorated in red aurene glass with gold wave design ending with a platinum iridescent finish. Absolutely one of the finest red aurene vases we have had the opportunity to offer. Similar vases maybe further referenced in the book The Glass of Frederick Carder by Paul V. Gardner, Plate V11. Vase is signed with a spurious “L.C. Tiffany L6071″ signature. SIZE: 9-1/4” t. PROVENANCE: From the Private Collection of Dorothy Lee Jones. CONDITION: Very good to excellent with very minor scratches to iridescence. 5-61804 (6,000-8,000)
