PAIR OF CHINESE EXPORT FAMILLE VERTE PLATTERS. Mid 19th century. The first depicting a gathering of men in a rocky terrain conversing with two armed individuals. The second depicting a small processional within a village. Both decorated with scrolling floral and diaper-work borders enhanced with birds within rondels alternating with exotic birds on branches. SIZE: 14-1/2″ l x 11-1/2″ w. CONDITION: Very good with minor and minimal wear to gilded surfaces. Both platters showing wear to enameled surfaces in center of platter. 9-22489 (800-1,200)
