*RARE HERMAN GOERING OWNED JULES BURY DBL RIFLE. Cal. 405 Win. SN 6640. Beautiful little double rifle with 25-1/4″ bbls that have a raised, flat, hand-matted rib with caterpillar front sight and 2-leaf express rear sight. It has double bite with Greener cross bolt rib extension, ejectors and double triggers, the front of which is articulated. It is mounted in beautiful shell grain walnut with checkered push button splinter forearm and rnd knob pistol grip stock with teardrop side panels, 14-3/4″ over a solid red recoil pad. The stock & bbl have sling eyes. The receiver has small reinforcements down the sides with thick heavy fences and a light engraved border pattern with rosettes around the screw heads and pins. The trigger bow has a small pattern of engraved oak leaves & acorns which has a small gold shield with an arm in armor holding onto a ring. This is Goering’s family crest and found on numerous items directly related to him and his family. It is well known that Goering was an avid hunter and gun collector. WEIGHT: 7 lb 7.6oz. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbls retain about all of a fine re-blacked finish. Receiver retains virtually all of its bright orig case colors, slightly faded on the top tang. Wood is sound and retains about all of a fine professionally restored finish. Mechanics are crisp, strong bright bores, frosty in the grooves. 4-55018 JR709 (7,000-10,000)
