*W. & C. SCOTT & SON SIDELOCK DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 70535. Fine early sidelock dbl with 28-1/4” bbls, with raised tapered matted rib, marked at the breech end “Scott’s Improved Bolt”. It has full sidelock action with square Greener style crossbolt, dbl lump with bbl extension, with extractors and double triggers. It has nicely figured walnut stock and full checkered splinter forearm. The stock has raised tear drop side panels with Prince of Wales stock and Monte Carlo style comb, 14” over a brown rubber recoil pad. The receiver and lockplates are very nicely engraved with fine English arabesque patterns and has a pigeon on the left lockplate and a grouse on the right. Weight 7 lbs. 5.0 oz. Drop at the heel 2-1/4”, at the comb 1-1/2”. CONDITION: Very good, as restored. Retains most of its fine custom finish to metal and wood. Engraving on the receiver and other metal is soft and has very fine pitting. Wood is sound and retains most of its fine custom finish. Brilliant shiny bores. 4-51212 JR819 (1,000-1,500)
