TWO LARGE CHINA HEAD DOLLS. Larger is a Civil War era so-called “flat top” china with short vertical curls pulled back covering the ears and well defined comb marks in the hair. Body is old stuffed muslin with arms and legs of china, probably not as old as the head itself. Slightly smaller one is dressed as a boy with molded and painted features with short curls framing the face and ears exposed. He too is on a body with arms and legs newer than the head and has been well recostumed representing a gentleman of the period. SIZE: 36″ (91cm) and 27″ (68cm) respectively.
